Catch the Vision Trips

This is an invitation for your ministry, church, association or state convention to consider attending a Catch the Vision Trip sponsored by Embrace Baltimore (NAMB Strategic Focus City). We would love to have one or two representatives from your church or ministry attend one of these trips. This is not designed to be a pre-visit planning trip for an upcoming mission trip. This is designed to give you the big picture of the vision and needs of the Embrace Baltimore/Baltimore Baptist Association and share with you how your church can partner in this exciting endeavor!

If God leads you to partner after these experiences (which we believe He will), we will then assist in matching you with a partner church with whom you can then begin assisting and planning future mission projects.

Cost
You will be responsible for transportation to and from Baltimore, housing, and some meals while in Baltimore. The only fee we ask is $30 per person for administrative costs and logistical items during this time. This money goes toward lunch on Monday and Tuesday as well as a nice dinner on Monday or Tuesday depending on the CTV trip dates. If there is concern about this fee, please let us know and we will work with you. Please make checks payable to Embrace Baltimore, a receipt of which can be issued if necessary.

Dress
Dress is casual. If this changes due to the churches or areas we are visiting, you will receive an e-mail notice one week prior to your arrival. Make sure you bring comfortable walking shoes.

Who to Bring
Due to space limitations, we ask that you limit the number of people from your ministry to two. This enables us to have as many ministries as possible at each vision trip. If this is a problem, please contact our Mobilization office at Embrace Baltimore.

Meeting Location

Coming by Airline
We suggest you use Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) which is approximately 30 minutes from the Embrace Baltimore office. Two airports in Washington, D.C. (Dulles and Reagan) are one to two hours from our office depending on traffic. Sometimes the cost between the BWI and D.C. airports can be substantial and sometimes the cost is nearly the same. We recommend you do a cost comparison on the Web.

Local Transportation
Once you have arrived at the Embrace Baltimore office, we will travel together to ministry sites and the meals we will be sharing. Depending on your free time plans, you may want to rent a car. If you stay at the Best Western Hotel and Conference Center, you can schedule a free shuttle to the Inner Harbor where there are many activities. The Best Western is also the home of Toby’s Dinner Theatre. To learn more about upcoming shows at Toby’s and how to purchase tickets, visit their Web site at tobysdinnertheatre.com or call 410.649.1660.

Food
Prices to dine in Baltimore vary greatly, but we’ll give you some options that will include places to eat for under $10. We will provide lunch on Monday and Tuesday and dinner on Monday or Tuesday, depending on the schedule.

Baltimore Orioles Games
Home to Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripkin, Jr.! Many CTV participants choose to see a Baltimore Orioles game during their free time. We recommend that you purchase your tickets before you arrive by going to the official Orioles Web site at baltimore.orioles.mlb.com.
