Carolina Mission Team Embracing Baltimore

First Baptist Church, Mauldin
There were months of planning for our team to come to Baltimore, Maryland, for our Youth Summer Mission Trip. We met with Bob Mackey, Executive Director of Missions, Baltimore Baptist Association, and the planning took off! There were many people involved in the Baltimore area that helped to make this trip possible. We met with church leaders and laymen, and we prayed about each church and their neighborhoods.
The experiences we received by making connections with Baltimore were amazing. We split up our team which consisted of five churches and we spread out all over the Baltimore area. Ten churches and their families had many opportunities for us to put our talents to work for the Lord. The youth will have lasting memories of the lives they touched and those who touched them.
Our members held sport camps, vacation Bible schools, and back yard clubs all over the city. They did construction projects at many churches that have congregations of people who were not able to perform the work themselves. They teamed up with the church leaders and helped with the children in the communities by teaching them about Jesus at the different camps.
Each evening we shared our experiences of the day at Middle River Baptist Church where we lodged. There were those who saw children come to know that people love them and really care about them. They shared about the children who came to know Jesus. As they told the stories of the day, there were tears of joy.
The church members we met were so welcoming to our team. They fed us, they gave us a place to sleep, they gave us transportation, they gave us advice, they entertained us, they loved on us and bragged on us. Our lives were changed forever after we came to Baltimore.
Thank you Baltimore for allowing us to come and serve with you.
